Travis Scott Arrested in Miami for Disorderly Intoxication and Trespassing

Travis Scott, the American rapper, was arrested in Miami early Thursday for disorderly intoxication and trespassing after an argument on a boat. Police detained him at Miami Beach Marina around 1:45 a.m., according to official records.

The Miami Beach Police report, seen by BBC Newsbeat, says officers responded to a fight on a yacht. Travis Scott, whose real name is Jacques Bermon Webster, was detained, as shown on the Miami-Dade County Corrections Department’s website.

Police found Scott shouting at people on the yacht and noticed a strong smell of alcohol on his breath. They told him to leave the dock, which he did, but he walked backward, yelling obscenities at the people on the boat.

Scott left but returned five minutes later, trying to go back to the yacht. When officers stopped him, he ignored their commands and became erratic, disturbing local residents.

After his arrest, Scott admitted he had been drinking and said, “It’s Miami.”

Travis Scott is a 10-time Grammy nominee and a major hip-hop artist. He has two children with Kylie Jenner. His European tour is set to begin in the Netherlands on June 28, with shows in London and Manchester on July 13.

In 2021, 10 fans died in a crowd surge at Scott’s Astroworld festival in Houston, Texas. He didn’t face criminal charges but is involved in civil cases blaming the organizers. Last year, he achieved his first UK number one album with “Utopia,” released a week after a planned show in Egypt was canceled.
